Somes Sound 12 1/2
I have just completed sea trials on the Somes Sound 12 1/2 gaff rigged sailboat I completed this past summer. The Somes Sound is based on the Herreshoff 12 1/2 also known as the Buzzards Bay Boys Boat. She is a lapstrake hull with a shoal keel. The keel is ballasted with 600 lbs of lead and has a centerboard. John Brooks drew the plans for the Somes Sound and I purchased my set in November of 2010 and started construction in 2011. I set up a blog at nordicboats.blogspot.com where you can view the entire build. I have enclosed a few pictures for your viewing.
Asking $20,000

Free 1962 Mermaid sloop
I have a 1962 mermaid sloop which needs TLC. She is 20 feet long, 3 1/2
foot draft. Sloop rig # 28. I am willing to give it away to anyone willing to take care of it and bring it back.
Otherwise it may head to the wrecker.
I think these boats where made in Norway and shipped here and put together here. There is a small bronze seal that says Solar boat work, Richmond ,California. She has no motor but has two great oars. It rows quite well.
She is in berth 251 Clipper Basin one near Schoonmaker point, Sausalito, California.
Please tell anyone there that could be interested in it

1962 Spaulding 33
"Pegasus" is number 6 of 9 built. Lovingly maintained by her second owners with many recent interior upgrades, all in keeping with her classic pedigree and character.
She is fractionally rigged and keel stepped on a lead keel. Plywood hull, which makes her fast and dry. The solid teak cabin house is almost 2" thick!
Sleeps 6 in two quarter berths, salon and v-berth, all with new blue-gray velour on natural foam rubber cushions. Low-hour Yanmar diesel and recent rewiring of electrical systems. New Sunbrella full tent cover. New holding tank that has never been used, and a nearly bone dry bilge.
This boat has been well maintained since new, never needing a restoration.
The Spaulding 33's are the only ply-wood hulled boats admitted into The Master Mariner's Society.
Financial set-back is forcing the sale of this boat that we had planned on keeping for life.
$19,000.00 o.b.o., and we will consider financing to the right buyer.
