Ladybug

LADYBUG was developed from Bill Garden’s JUNEBUG design.  Awarded “Best Small Sailboat” at the Center for Wooden Boats Seattle Boat Show.  Expertly built in 1998 and has been maintained in “as new” condition.  Construction is Douglas Fir plywood and epoxy.  Spars are hollow old growth Sitka Spruce.  The boat was the subject of a Reader Boat article in the May/June 2010 issue of “Small Craft Advisor”.  Copies are available on request.  The boat comes fully equipped and ready to go cruising.  Plenty of room for two air mattresses and sleeping bags.  There is a wood stove for cabin heating and a portable galley that includes a two burner propane stove and stowage space for pots,pans,dishes,etc.  All included.  There is an ice box, porta potty, electric lights, compass, GPS chart plotter, depth sounder/fish finder/speed log, solar panel, 8 HP Honda, tabernacle mast, trailer with new bearings, brakes, etc.
North sails in excellent condition, mainsail cover, roller jib, awning, anchor and more.  The boat weighs only 2,000 lbs. so is easily trailer-able.  It’s 1’ draft and leeboards make it ideal for exploring shallow creeks, etc.
For open water work it would be simple to hang a Cal 20, or similar fin keel on it.

26ft Chris Craft

Hubba Hubba is the name for this 26', 1966 Chris Craft Cavalier, a classic wood, bay boat with twin engines (305 hp), ready to take you out for a day! Recent survey has been done (May 2012). It runs! About 9 years ago I had it 'wooded' (painted completely removed to the wood) and repainted. I put in about $40,000 into it. It is an amazing boat in looks and speed, but I just don't use it enough to justify it. It has been berthed under the awnings at Alameda Marina for the last several years. It needs a loving owner with 'boat time' to play with it and use it.

1942 Stephens Brothers WWII Navy Tugboat

The last remaining, of 20 original tugboats built for a US Army contract, by builder Stephens Brothers of Stockton, CA.

Nunes Bros. Hurricane, hull #2 "Hanaloa"

Built in 1946 with full length 7/8" Alaskan fir planks on oak frames, iron fastened. Ballast is 4200lbs of lead.

Not enough space to be a plausible live a board, the cabin trunk is low enough for excellent visibility.  I think of her as a very manageable day sailor other than reefing the large main can be a handful.

Currently lying in Moss Landing, CA in a transferable slip but there isn't really enough air there for this boat, designed to race up in the bay area.

While I did sail her up until a year ago, she needs a lot of work...
The cutlass bearing is super sloppy, the aft hatches need replacement.  The cockpit is sort of cut up.  She needs partial refastening and some caulking at some point.  The transom is a mess, and so on.  The planking is sound and very few frames are cracked, a couple in the quarters as I recall.

The good news:
Good running atomic-4, recently overhauled.
Good sail inventory, a set of tatty working sails and a set of nearly new sails and well as a small storm jib.
Spare mast.
Full cover in generally very good shape.
New battery, charger, bilge pump and switch.
New fore hatch a couple years back, very nice.

Finances: Mostly I just want her to get the love she needs, lets say $2500 as a fully-refundable deposit, just show me you got some of the work done in the next year and you get up to $2000 back.

26ft Cold-molded sloop

Northern Traveller is a 26 foot cold-molded sloop, designed by Naval Architect Gary Mull, and professionally built by McClelland Yachts, Kenora Ontario ( http://www.genoabay.net/ ).  She sleeps 4 in an elegant interior, and is equipped with BMW inboard diesel, enclosed marine head with holding tank, state-of-the-art electronics and sailing hardware, galley with cupboards, sink and propane stove,  a large and comfortable cockpit, and plenty of stowage for sails and gear.  She features a stunning bright-varnished wooden interior and exterior with a two-tone painted deck. 1936 Marconi rigged sloop Volante 42′

Must  sell!

1936 42′ Nunes Bros sloop Volante. 2 sets of sails, running Perkins diesel motor, all teak interior. Hauled 2 years ago and was out of the water for a month. Did a thorough job on the hull (didn’t find any rot, but took the time to really go over the planks and seams), including a 3 coats of paint above & below the water line, and replaced 2 of 7 keel bolts (aft and fore). The remaining 5 looked ok and replacing them would be more nice to do than must do. Replaced the zinc. Have been working on the topside on & off over the past 2 years. The cabin top has been fully refinished and was going to start on the decks. The decks aren’t bad but there are a few spots that need the wood replaced. The 60′ mast is down, but not for any reason other than I had the boat in a covered slip. The boat has an iron keel and the hull is iron fastened.

Volante won the Master Mariners twice, 1st place in 1986 and 3rd in 1989, and it’s not hard to imagine her winning again.  She also took their Perpetual Dead Eye Award in 1989.

Overall the boat is sound and doesn’t require any major work. I never thought I wouldn’t finish her restoration — it wasn’t a major project when I started and it still isn’t — but things happen and plans change. I really don’t have a choice, I have to let the boat go and immediately. I wanted to get $10k but I don’t think I have time to go through a long drawn out sales process so in effort for  a quick sale, I decided to ask just $7k, as is. It’s possible to keep the boat where she is in Pt Richmond, but let me know if that is your intention. If that is the case, we can go over those details and make the arrangement with the marina. If not, please be prepared to move the boat at the time of purchase.

You can look at the boat any time. I’ve made arrangements with another boater at the marina who will show the boat if I can’t be there. The boat is in Pt Richmond, I-580 exit at Canal Street.
